From Teacher to AI Founder: How Brandon Russell Is Building 4THDMC | EVOLVE

Brandon Russell didn’t start 4THDMC | EVOLVE because he saw a gap in the market. He started it because he kept seeing the same gap in two rooms he happens to stand in every day.

In one room, small business owners know AI matters — but most of them don’t need another tool. They need someone to help them see where time, money, and follow-up are quietly leaking out of the business, and how AI can support better systems without replacing their own judgment.

In the other room: teachers. Told to use AI, often overwhelmed, undertrained, handed tools with zero context for how to actually use them. Brandon teaches business full-time in a public school. He sees that gap up close, every week.

“I have lived on both sides,” he says. He spent years as a business owner and consultant before becoming a teacher — so he knows what it’s like to build something new while still carrying a full-time job, a family, and the slow pressure of trying to create a better future one piece at a time.

4THDMC | EVOLVE is his attempt to build the bridge he kept wishing existed.

The hardest lesson: clarity beats complexity

Here’s the part most founders skip when they tell their story — the part where the idea was too true.

Brandon had the experience, the tools, the philosophy, the credentials. The problem wasn’t a lack of substance. It was that the business sounded like consulting, education, AI tools, content, strategy, and personal reinvention, all bundled into one explanation. Every piece of it was real. None of it was simple.

“The hard part was not creating more,” he says. “It was reducing. Choosing the front door. Deciding what gets said first and what waits.”

His takeaway is one every early founder should tape above their desk:

“If people cannot repeat what you do in one sentence, they probably cannot refer you either.”

The shift that gave the business a spine

The real turning point came when Brandon stopped treating AI as the product.

He’s not selling AI tools. He’s redesigning the work around them — workflow audits, revenue-leak diagnosis, follow-up systems, SOPs, and AI-assisted operations for small businesses. For teachers, that means tools that cut workload while keeping professional judgment exactly where it belongs: with the teacher.

“That one distinction gave the company a clearer spine,” he says. “It’s not about chasing tools. It’s about building systems that keep working after the excitement wears off.”

One honest founder story, every week. No hype, no fluff — just the real build.

What success looks like from here

Brandon isn’t chasing a headline number. In the next 12 months, success means a real consulting pipeline — signed clients, actual case studies, business owners using systems his team helped build — alongside a stronger user base on the educator side.

Personally, it comes down to one specific, unglamorous target: $4,600 a month, for three straight months. Not for vanity — for freedom. That number is the difference between a side project he works on after hours and the main road.

“The bigger version of success is simpler,” he says. “People who felt behind because of AI now feel capable, clear, and less trapped in their work.”

4THDMC | EVOLVE was formed as an LLC in April 2026, and Brandon is building it the way most real businesses actually get built — piece by piece, after hours, some days feeling like momentum and some days feeling like pushing a boulder uphill. The company philosophy doubles as the only instruction he’s really following:

Begin Anyway. Evolve Always. Repeat Forever.
